View Full Version : Extracting part of a VOB file?

I have a VOB file which I'd like to extract part of it (just 1 clip with audio) to another (much smaller) VOB file, which in turn, I can encode. I don't want to encode the larger VOB file, because it would take to long since I only want one piece.

Anyone know how(and with what)to do this?

I've found a tool like VobSplitter, but I don't know what the exact bytes of the frames I want to extract is. I can get the frame number.

Thanks!

It depends if you have vob only or vob with ifos. If you have only the vob file, first create the ifos using ifoedit CreateIfos for that vob file.

Load that ifo in DVD shrink.

Select reauthor mode and drag your title 1 (assuming your vob is one title). You can right click on that title 1 in your reauthor dvd shrink window and set the start and end frame using scroll bars.

I usually do such things for extracting songs.

Hope this helps!!!
