After searching through 20 pages of threads containing the word "Scenarist" in their title, I still could not find the answer to this question.

Is it possible to use any other DVD-authoring software in the place of Scenarist with the "Big 3" method of DVD backup? I'm guessing that the DVD authoring sw would need to be able to accept .SCP scripts as input. Is this a proprietary thing or is it a standard? Could one possibly replace Scenarist with the new Adobe Encore?

Thank you.

Scenarist is the only program that will use the .scp script RA generates as far as I know.

For the time being Scenarist is definitely the only option. In fact, RA needs quite an advanced authoring program to begin with and I wouldn't know about any other tool that allows the necessary script import/export RA uses to control Scenarist. There might be such tools, but considering that this is a rather complex feature that most people will never use, I think the number of tools allowing for script import/export is rather limited.
