Hi everyone,
I just bought an external USB2.0 enclosure and decided to try my A05 out in it.
I'm having an intermittent problem where the usb2.0 enclosure falls off the root hub for a millisecond then comes back on. I can tell it's doing this by the fact that Disk Manager lists it as CDRom0, then CDRom1, CDrom2 etc, incrementing the device number each time it happens.
I'm using an Asus P4B533E motherboard, the USB enclosure is a generic Chinese made box but appears sturdy and works fine on other machines (laptops etc).
I was just curious to see if anyone else has experienced anything like this as each time it drops off I make a coaster and it's very frustrating.
It was extremely bad when I first bought it when I realised that the motherboard USB 2.0 reference voltage was set to maximum. I took that down to a medium setting and also disabled USB legacy support and it improved considerably.
The odd thing now is that it appears to happen if I plug in another USB device while the burner is active (including anything on a 1.1 USB interface, the motherboard has separate root hubs for 1.1 and 2.0).
I'm wondering if I have a faulty motherboard given that two separate root hubs appear to affect each other.
If anyone has any ideas or has seen this before I'd be happy to hear from you.
