does anybody know if the next installment of napster will use .mp3's or .wma's??

I'm pretty excited about the $9.95 a month for unlimited "legal downloads".

the $9.95 is for a full album and not for unlimited downloads..... ;-(

Does anybody know if you can only download 128kbps or if you can choose the quality?

It uses DRM'ed WMA.

@fischerbot

actually I did some research, and we are both right, but here's the catch, if you get the premium service it's 9.95 a month for unlimited downloads/streaming BUT whatever you download is only playable for as long as you're a premium member. (which I think is pretty fair)
...but if you choose to purchase songs, it's 99 cents each or 9.95 an album, but you could play them forever

@Animaniac

what does that mean?

it means that the music files include Digital Right Management and you'll only be able to play them on one machine and/or limited time.
It's pretty much what you described with the files usable only while you are premium member. But I don't know if the files or albums you pay for can be played on several machines (players).

and you can only play drm'ed files in specific players:
crappy wmp9 or napster itself...
