Has anybody flashed his Toshiba SD-R5002 with the new 1033 firmware?
I have 1031 in mine and no problems at all, except the usual inability to write at 2x. If it works, don't touch it I say and I wonder if anyone has any remarks on the new firmware which, according to Toshiba, fixes a serious burning-related problem...

I have bios 1033 installed since several months. The recorder burns at 2x Ritek G03 Media. I dont know if this is an improvement due to the firmware update, because I did not try Ritek media with 1031 or 1032. My recorder has several problems with DVD-RW (it burns only few brands and after few write/erase cycles, the media becomes unusabe) and the firmware update does not solve them.

1033 fixed a major burn problem for me.
Initially when writing at 2x speed on ritek all was going aok.
100 burns later, the shit hit the fan. Software reported the discs were being burned fine, ut they just wouldn't play in any standalone DVD players. I can guarentee it wasn't my authoring, and the media wasn't an issue either as once i updated to 1033 everything went back to normal.
