Picked it up today, man its sound STILL SUCKS!?!(And I was blaming it on my THX local theater)
I actually had to set my DD systems's center channel to like +6db to even HEAR alot of the dialog!!!
But,id expect that in a movie filled with plot holes...:D
Anyway,It LOOKS GREAT,and has MANY nice test chapter points:cool:
I was just gonna ask Doom, you gonna use it over the last Matrix in the next flurry of tests,OR keep the original(and be consistant).
I would almost certainly use both,as the new one has alot more "real world" scenes where the color is correct.
Cheers!

Oh heck. You mean that rip floating around the internet from a few months ago is how the sound is? The sound on that thing was HORRIBLE! Even the LFE channel was a little screwed up, and I don't even know how you would do that.

Pamel: Morbo is describing his perception of the Warner Home Video DVD release. Please remember Rule 6 (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm).

I vote for keeping the old, because you can always watch back how codecs get improved...
About adding it to the test... Would be nice ! ;)
But, I bet Doom9 has already enough work to do with his comparsions to add another source... :D

Well,Im unimpressed with the DVD sound, its horrible...even when you lay a mountain of gain on it....(sounds like mp2 when you do).
When they all come out(again),I will get the whole boxset IF it has DTS....
I was just poking @ DOOM for a response;)
The KFC chapter is a nice test(all those screens moving).
Ive already tried a 1 disc in RM9......looked horrible.
I dont think this one is short enough(unless you leave the trailer at the end out) to get 1 disc...
And do the print any justice....
But the sound,.....I was almost mad after watching it...seriously!
I think the dude behind the SSL in the mixing room had his head in the center channel!

While on a flight I met one of the guys who mixed the sound for Reloaded. We had a great conversation about the industry but he had only worked on 1 movie prior to doing Reloaded, and he seemed really young. He told me he got the job because he was willing to work for practically free. I guess we can blame him if the sound is as bad as you say. My copy is still in the mail so I haven't had a chance to evaluate it yet. I hear disk one is about 6 gigs and disk 2 is only a DVD5? I was hoping for some more content personally.

I agree with you Morbo, I just got my copy monday and the audio is horrible. Well at least the dialog. I only have a 2 speaker system, so I don't know which channels are messed up, but the dialog sure is! I also tried adding some gain, but it sounds bad, so I just turned on the subs :D LOL

I just hope it doesnt start a trend.....
DD movies vary by quality, but this is a plot movie by nature, and good grief.....you'd figure that the dialog would be up front....
Cheers
