Has anyone found good antialiased fonts for use with AviSynth? I'm specifically looking for something to replicate Windows' Arial. Screen grabs don't work so well as the thin parts of the letters generate too much contrast.

You mean bitmap fonts? Truetype fonts are primarily vector-based, and the anti-aliasing is done when they're rendered; anti-aliasing is not inherent to the font itself.
If you want to increase anti-aliasing (and thus blurriness), maybe you could render the text larger than you need it to be, resize it down, and then use Layer to overlay the text.
Microsoft's core fonts (Verdana, Tahoma, Trebuchet, etc.) have been designed for readability on computer screens. Are these any better for you? (I'm not quite sure what you mean by "Screen grabs don't work so well as the thin parts of the letters generate too much contrast".)
