DVD2SVCD 1.2.1 build 3 & Mjpeg

The problem described below occurs regulary, for now its fixed. I don't know what fixed the problem, but I am glad enough that I have the right movie length. I still hope somebody can explain me why it is happening. Altough the problem is solved, CCE 2.50 crashes. Well got a workaround. First compressing little parts of the mjpeg coded capture with hyuff and then feeding it through dvd2svcd. Sad but true.

I am using DVD2SVCD 1.2.1 build 3 and VirtualDub 1.5.6. I have captured a personal recording from VHS tape with the new Mjpeg codec V3 (trial version). Well the problem is as following: The recording with Virtualdub was like 2 hours and 30 minutes. But when I open this avi file in DVD2SVCD it reports a movie length of 4 seconds. I thought what the hack and continued. But the strange thing is that Besweet only codes 4 seconds and also CCE codes 4 seconds. Than CCE stops and nothing else happens. No freezing or error report. I close CCE and DVD2SVCD. Whatever I do, I can't get DVD2SVCD to get the right movie lenght.

Bye the way feeding it directly in CCE results in a correct movie length. But I get the error message that the codec is not recognized.

did you notice if you dropped a lot of frames while recording? also, can you play the avi file in WMP?

you might try opening the avi file in VD, and choosing direct stream copy for both video and sound, and save it to a new AVI file, and try again....this has been known to solve the problem sometimes.

Try selecting Multipass VBR and set Number of passes to 1. This is NOT the same as One PAss VBR.
