Not sure where this post should go, so please move it to the right forum if this is the wrong place.
Ok, I've some MPEG's which I've downloaded where the audio and video are out of sync. I suspect that the audio framerate is different from the video. The video format is NTSC, and if extract the audio and save as a wave file with VirtualDub and resample to 25 frames, it plays almost perfectly in sync, maybe a frame or 2 out.
This doesn't make sense to me, audio at 25fps and video at 29fps and it's almost synched. Is there a tool or a way to establish what the correct framerates should be for the audio \ video? Or is there a different solutions?

I think you'll agree this is a nice forum. Please follow the rules. Most importantly no discussion of downloaded movies or warez.

I agree, and I've had many a problem solved here :) I do apologize if I have offended anyone here, but I'm not aware that I have broken any rules. I have not discussed or mentioned downloaded movies or warez, I'm merely seeking help with an out of sync MPEG. Oh, the downloaded MPEG? Its is actually a music clip\video, which are available on quite a number of official artist sites, etc. To the best of my knowledge music clips\videos are not illegal.

Sorry I misunderstood.
Have you determined if the audio and video is the same lenght. If not you'll have to do time stretching. This is a common problem with downloaded mpg's. Cool edit pro can do this as well as other higher end apps. There may be a freeware app but since I paid a lot of $$$$$ for cool edit I use it.
You can change frame rate values in besweet. I would demx, rename the mp2 to mpa then use besweet to see if the problem goes away. I suspect that will not do it though.

Sorry I misunderstood. I should have made it clearer in my original post. Have you determined if the audio and video is the same lenght. If not you'll have to do time stretching. Yes, the lenghts are different, e.g
Video = 03.36.950
Audio = 03.36.869
The audio time has to match the video time, right? Thank you for your help.
