Hello all

I just bought a new 32" wide screen TV and wanted to use the TV out from the ATI Radeon 7000 that I have.

Unfortunently I found out that the qualety of the TV Out on my ATI Video card, is crappy and the picture is almost as bad as regular TV Broadcats.

I found out that my TV Out only supports 256 colors and a resolution of 640 X 480 and is fixed to 60Hz.

I need links to sites that have information and specifications about TV Out of display adaptors so I can learn about the subject more.

ThanX

I used to have a Radeon 7000, and I was quite happy with the quality on my 28" widescreen TV.

Are you using an S-video or composite signal from the card to the TV? S-video is better.

The TV out vertical resolution will always be 480 @ 60Hz (NTSC), because that's all that normal TVs can handle.

However, you should be able to get more than 256 colours, and I was able to set a res. of 1024x768 (which is re-sampled in the video card to a lower res. for the TV). Maybe try a driver update for these issues?

Hey FlimsyFeet

Did the software update early this morning and still 256 colors but I am using the composite, I don't have S-Video.
