this is the problem ... i open up the program and have to find the destinations .. i find them and everthing is cool .. i have no problems using it... when i try to open the program again and try to encode through it Gordian knot tells me i have to locate virtual dub ... when i go back to the programs path in gordian knot i see that non of the paths are there and when i try to select he proper path it just gets ereased.
as i am righting this i am downloading the latest version hopfully that does .. but any help will be greatful

Well I guess you missed the announcement before you posted, but 0.28.6 is out now. Try that and see if it fixes your problems.

I noticed the same thing, Alwayscamp. I uninstalled 0.28.5 and installed 0.28.6, and the program paths were blanked; also, when I go to encode, I get a message saying my DivX settings are not set (clicking and closing the First Pass and Second Pass buttons seems to fix that, though). :confused:

@Alwayscamp
you problems should be solved by 0.28.6
@maf
It's a feature - you have to set the defaults on option tab if you don't want to click settings on encode window...

Thanks, len0x, but even if I enable the settings in the Options tab, I still get the same message when I go to encode. It could be my codec, I guess - I'm using the K-Lite Codec Pack with DivX 5.0.5, which has previously produced great results for me when combined with GK.
Another thing - using GK 0.28.6.1 - DVD Decrypter 3.1.7.0 doesn't seem to work as well as the previous version. 3.1.6.0 used to (correctly) select the movie VOBs and create a Stream Information file, whereas 3.1.7.0 doesn't seem to do that for me. I've gone back to using 3.1.6.0 for now...
The included version of DVD2AVI is for some reason making a d2v file; I use version 1.82, which is based on 1.76, and that works much faster.
These are just my experiences, anyway. GK is great, and I like using it a lot :) Just a few fiddly things I'm dealing with lately.

What do you mean by "enable" ? You have to click on first and then second pass buttons (and credits if you use them), so that defaults are created. Did you do that? And it still asks you for settings on encode window?

I suggest you report that in Decrypting forum...
(although I'd check your settings in dvddecrypter first)

Ok, I'll set the Pass settings in Options next time I encode and see what happens. It's just that I've never had to do that in GK until recently. Thanks.
