I'm using Scenarist 2.7 with DVD2SVCD 1.2.1b3 and CCE 2.50 to produce a set of VOB files from a PAL DVD to fit a DVDR. It encodes and authors with no apparent problems.
The bug found in DVD2SVCD that created an NTSC header in the IFO files when the original was infact PAL seamed to have been resolved (thread http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=60463 ) with the issue of ver 1.2.1 build 2b and the new subsequent 1.2.1. b3, thanks DVD2SVCD. However, on some DVD Players they still refuse to play. My mate has one such player ( a Conia model ???) yet they play flawlessly on my Hiteker(Apex) AD600.
Further checking with IFOEdit both the VIDEO_TS.IFO and VTS_01_0.IFO files from a recent encode/author with ver 1.2.1 b3 with Scenarist, I find it reads:
VMG Overview:
Menu attributes:
Video: MPEG-1 720x480 (NTSC) (NTSC 525/60) (4:3) (pan-scan & letterboxed)
Title Set (Movie) attributes:
Video: MPEG-2 720x576 (PAL) (PAL 625/50) (16:9) (letterboxed)
Note the Menu Video attributes (even though there is no Menu, its Movie only here) is set to an MPEG-1 and still NTSC. If I then edit this with IFOEdit to MPEG-2 and PAL and burn, it then plays perfectly in my mates player. If I author the *.m2v and *.ac3 files manually in Maestro ( as I have always done in the past), the Menu part is corectly set to MPEG-2 and PAL in both IFO files
Is anyone else finding this problem or it it just me?
Cheers,
CM
