Method for use of SSIM

Hi all,

I'm newb to SSIM, and I wonder if the use of SSIM, must be in VirtualDubMod, to play the script, because it take a time to wait to have the number.

I make tests with different builds of Xvid, so make different encoding in AVI container, and after I change the setting of the source (virtualdubmod script editor) of a saved script , save and refresh, and play.

So if u got better idea ??

Yes, you have to play it in vdubmod, wmp or in some other player. And that takes indeed much time.

okay, it's clear for me now :D

So we have to take some patience for getting SSIM numbers.

Another question, is it possible to have the time passed, for the first and second pass in seconds, written somewhere (in a file ?) from VirtualDubMod, because, at this time, I use my watch like a stopwatch and obtain numbers from it, so it is not very simple... :D


(I made statistics, from testing differents Xvid build, to get the best speed/quality ratio...)
