I want to make an SVCD version of my The Lord Of The Rings: Fellowship of the Ring Special Edition DVDs. The complete movie fits on 2 DVDs.
I read the Q&A forum of compressing movies with several DVDs, but it didn't help me.
I ripped the movie with DVD2SVCD into 2 different directories. I renamed the second disk's files and i used the IFO of the first disk.
I made the conversion, but the sound and the subtitles didn't sync with the picture in the second disk's content.
I made a new IFO file from the VOB files with IFOEdit, but i recognized that the subtitles streams were different in the first and the second disk. I wanted to compress the Hungarian subtitles on the movie withe Permanent Subtitles because my Stand-Alone DVD player doesn't support either SVCD or CVD subtitles.
The subtitle stream which i wanted to use was the No. 25th, but on the second disk it was the No. 26th.
I knew that DVD2SVCD supports external subtitles, so i decided to rip it out with SupRip. I ripped the subtitles from Disc 1 and Disc 2 and i saved them into 2 different files in *.srt format.
I wanted to join them, but i don't know the connecting point of the 2 subtitles because the film starts to count from zero on the second disk.
Know, i'm not able to rerip the content of the disk 'cause i gave it to my friend. The files of the 2 disks are on my hard disk.
Could anyone help me?
