there are a lot of problems with stuff dsp guru don't control (obviously)
For some reason I can't force a true stereo mp3(the check box in besweet don't change the command line... and if i try to type it into a command propt myself it don't work.. or it encodes as joint stereo... is this becuase of MY lame.dll or something?)

ac3 streams. don't use it to encode things you care for.
it's there only for test purposes.

SO what SHOULD I use..to downmix an AC3 stream...? I usually set the levels on the center, lfe, and surround to 0db.. and then set the downmix to 3/2 (when making a 2/0 file) and a gain of about 15-18db(at ANY bitrate lower than the orginal 5.1 file...)
Do i have to use some completely different method to downmix an AC3 file.. I have seen some postings about other methods but they seems to be talking about creating AC3.. or about programs that ARE NOT FREE...(i know why bitch about something that is free....but im not really complaining.. i just want to know [learn] if im doing something wrong...
can people suggest someting for me.. post links to other topics, etc
Thanks.. (remeber the more you teach me.. the more i can help others and take some of the heat off of you.. :)_)
