View Full Version : How to back up a very large Movie on 3 DVD's

I just ripped a very large DVD from a double sided DVD. All told it is about 11.5GB. I'd like to keep this uncompressed and place it on
three DVD's but the ripping using DVD Decryptor created two folders with each section in its own VIDEO_TS folder. How would I go about making three DVD's under 4.7GB with the two larger ones I now have?

Thanks!

DVD Shrink in re-author mode will probably do this the way you want.
Check out the guides at http://www.dvdshrink.info

That is what I thought, but when I tried this for the resulting IFO's did not run the movie. In Disc 2, which had VOB's from Side A of the doublesided DVD and VOB's from Side B of the double sided DVD, the playback was from the 1st set of VOB's.

I don't want to sound pessimistic about it, but the only sure approach I would have taken is to completely reauthor the 3 title sets.

@ oilop, it should work if you rip to HD first with DVDdecrypter in file mode. DVDShrink makes a multiple VTS output and I've never seen it let anyone down.

Maa, This is exactly what I had done, but both the last part of Side A and the first part of Side B both had VTS output and neither of them played the intire movie. I will try again, but I'm not holding my breath!
