dvd-shrink interlaced

does dvd shrink automatically deinterlace a interlaced dvd source? or will the quality not be acceptable? do i have to change any settings?

why doesn´t it? when i encoded a interlaced movie using cce, i had this artefacts when i watched it on tv! and this problems don´t occur using dvd shrink?

That's because you used the wrong settings in cce. Interlaced video is meant to be watched on tv and it doesn't cause problems when properly encoded.

Given the way transcoders like Shrink work, there's no way they can deal with interlacing anyway.

why deinterlace? just keep it interlaced
the combing effects cant be seen on tvs anyway plus if you
deinterlace wrong the video may produce the ghosting effect on fast scenes thus making it even more annoying to watch
