hi all,
i tried searching but i found a thread which didn't get answered at all
The Thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=51583&highlight=adding+subs+to+svcd)
so i'll ask here:

i have an svcd and i want to add subtitles to it,
the subs will be permanent, i mean i want to hard code them on the movie.

i understand i will need to reencode or transcode or something but don't know what to do for the best and simple result so a quick explantion will help me very much

i don't want to lose the svcd quality, there must be a way to take each frame and just add the sub in the proper place

thnx in advance...

hi,

you got to decide: if you want to hardcode the subs into the video you'll lose some quality if you reencode. if you just try to mux the subs into the existing svcd files you can (de)select them and don't have to reencode the video... which would save you both time and quality...

honestly i've never added subs to an existing SVCD, but i see that DVD2SVCD utilizes a program called winsubmuxer to do the job, so i'd recommend you take a closer look at this program and see if it is suitable for your job!
