There's a new star in the free software sky for us DV folks:
http://nic.dnsalias.com/ReJig.zip

Now you can shrink your m2v files fast if it's gotten a little too large during encoding. The method is similar to what DVDShrink, DVD2One, etc. do.

I´m new to this and just curious. I wonder when m2v files are actual when working with DV?!

Whenever you want to create DVDs from your home video - which is what many people do nowadays, me included. And if you need to put several clips on a DVD, you may likely encounter the problem of having oversize problems, maybe your collection being just a few MB too large if authored together with the menus. ReJig can help you decrease the size of one or two of your ready-made MPEG-2 files, so that they fit on the DVD altogether.
