I am having a SIZE problem with Instant Copy (8)....
...one that i havent read about in the forum!!

When making a DVD to DVD image, the program doesnt compress at all when i customize under the default 4.31 size.

I want to make a DVDonCD. So i removed the mainmovie and reduce all the extras to 50% compression... The results image is a big as the original size of all the selected material.

I tried all kinds of different settings like; disabling auto-size and
set the maincustomizing to manually, it still keeps producing the original size and doesn't compress/ re-encode the videostreams at all!

Really a dissapointment as it thougt this app could help me make my ideal DVD backup:

1) -Keep the menus and extras
2) -Copy the mainmovie in origianl quality (or close as possible) to
one DVD
3) -Copy the extras highly compressed to fit on a regular CD (DVDonCD)

That will be fixed in Instant Copy 9, which will not be a free upgrade.

Are you sure about that? Where did you get the information?
Did you noticed the same problem?

There are a lot of bugs in this software (8.0) however it looks very promising because of the nice interface and many options, only they are not always and sometimes not all functioning.

Besides it is said having one of the best picture encoding, except for the pro encoders (tmpenc and cce) This program could be so fucking perfect if it is functioning okay.

Isnt there a tweak to solve my size problem by the way? I would really like to make this miniDVD of extras rather then make an SVCD wich Instant Copy also lacks btw; you cannot deselect items if converting to SVCD. But whatever, there are better tools for SVCD.

I thougt so, it sounded a little strange.

thanks.

Any others have serious thoughts abot this IC8 issue?
I cannot be the only one who has expiremented with sizes lower then 4.31. I still can't seem to fix it and i doubt that it is possible but maybe thier is some tweak around... It is however a great program if it was not being so buggy.. Not only does it has many size problems, it also lacks copying selected features like subs and audio and slows or hangs in previewing or doesnt preview at all...

too bad... this app has so many options and a nice interface, it makes you want them to work all correct.
