I can't quite figure out why the video seems to shudder or stutter. I've been making OGM and MKV encodes lately and the audio plays just as it should (OGG) and the video encodes are the best I've ever done except for the slight intermittent video shift that occurs. It's not the speed of the computer, there are no dropped frames and it plays just as well on a 2GHz PC in Windows XP as on a 400MHz G4 using OS X. Actually it seems to play a bit better using Mplayer on OS X than vlc and a given media player with the Matroska DirectShow filters. Would anyone know of any reason why this shift occurs?
