What's the lowest percent sizing you would go with InstantCopy 8 and deem it still watchable?

It seems there are many DVD's these days close to the 8GB mark, and its hard to get it above 55% compression if you want to keep everything.

Would that still be watchable, or should I just DivX it?

And there's another question! What would be better. A DVD at 55% compression with IC8, or a DivX 5.x at 640 x XXX resolution with full quality and no macroblocks?

This is something that is subjective.

What I find acceptable may not be acceptable for you. Also, 60% compression on one DVD may look worse then 50% on a different DVD. Some DVD's compress better then others.

Once I get IC8 though, I will let you know what I find acceptable on average. My copy should be here next week.

Well it depends on how high the bitrate is on the movie. If the movie is up to 2hours long and file size about 7-8GB you should be able to compresss is to about 55%. But then again if you think that the quality is poor when you look at the result you should go for a lager %.

To be 100% certain that you like the result you should run some teste.
