Advice for purchasing a DVD-player

Hi everybody,

I'm considering purchasing a new standalone DVD player and I need some advice. Basically I'd like to buy a mid to high-end device, like the Sony's DVP-NS930 or Pioneer DV 757Ai. Could anyone give me a hint, website address, whatever else where I can find information like:
- a product review, including the meaningness and usage of the product features (progressive scan, iLink connection, etc)
- feature and/or different product comparisons
- tips and tricks for converting to codefree, undocumented commands, firmware updates and so on
