I've been trying to keep up with all of the changes lately and things are getting much better in the DVD-r world. Which programs will completely reomove titles (I think that's the correct term) from a back up?

I read CloneDVD 1.3.9.8 can do this. But clone doesn't allow you to select the amount of compression for each part does it?

Does IC8 allow this?
I know there were hacks to IC7 to do this but I usually had DVD Navigation errors when I did this. Will the hacks work properly in 8?

DVDShrink b3?

I can try DVDShrink on my own I suppose but can't do it with the others without making a purchase. I'm sure this is answered in the forums already and I did try...

PS MackemX's tool looks great for what I'm trying to do. Would I use something like that before using a one click too..... rip unwanted stuff then run DVDShrink?

InstantCopy 8 and CloneDVD v1.3.9.8 will remove titles, but won't remove partial menus. You either have to remove all of the menus or leave all of them in. However, sometimes the FBI Warnings, logo's, etc. are menus instead of titles. MackemX's DVD Stripping Tool will allow you to remove any title and any menu you want to remove ... very cool.

You can use IC8, CloneDVD, or DVDShrink after using MackemX's tool to transcode the DVD.

I have been using IFOEdit to completely strip out the unwanted extras, including the whatever warnings embeded in the menu vob. Although u can learn fast how to do the stripping using IFOEdit by reading guides from 2COOL (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43142) and/or MackemX (http://www.deano.dsl.pipex.com/backup/), u might want to wait for the release of cool unnamed DVDStripping Tool from MackemX.

What is the point of people coming out with "MackemX's Tool will....... " when it is NOT available publicly????

After looking over the guides I'm convinced what we need is an easy to use tool that does this for dummies like me! Mackem's tool sure is sounding wonderful!

It's because it will (hopefully) be out soon. And people who have tried it, know what they are talking about.
If you have tried stripping on your own, you must know the countless hours lost and the doubtfull results: most of the times, DVD-+R plays on PC and SOME standalone players, and chokes on other. That is for the majority of users (myself included).
CloneDVD is on the right path, but it's not working on all unwanted material, plus the user cannot adjust the compression level.
This one works 100%, even on super fussy players and it's worth the wait. Some bugs have to be ironed out. Bugs, mind you, that someone with minor knowledge of Ifoedit can 'bypass' manually, but which could create a flood of "...this piece of s**t does not work" threads and messages. Remember that this particular forum is full of people with little to none knowledge of DVD structure, ifoedit, Ifoupdate, Scenarist, Maestro etc etc
Just give MackemX and the Programmer some time to make it (novice)user friendly and really "a few button clicker"

Besides, if someone wants to be an early buyer or a potential betatester, all he-she has to do is make a donation, even a small one
