View Full Version : RobaBach method? and Big 3 Suggestions.

Since BatchCCE is no longer associated with the "Big 3" I'm wondering if some of the BatchCCE features would be added to ReAuthorist? Just a thought. Because going through the Doom9 guide about Robshot-Bach method, it's as if I have to sit there to go through the encoding.. kinda, or just wait 6 hours for the first pass, then come back and configure it for a multipass run.

Another thing is about BatchCCE. I'm thinking I'm having problems with the Robshot-Bach Method when using it, because the file size tends to stay the same. But when I ran the ReAuthorist ecl file in CCE SP, doing a Multipass, it created the vaf file, and next it runs the multipass to create the video file. During the passes to encode the movie itself, I noticed that the encoding time had increased significantly. During the first pass, it took about 6 hours, and then the next pass took 16 hours or so. I'm not sure what had happened, but is BatchCCE's RobshotBach Method supposed to be doing the same thing?

I also noticed that CCEData.txt and the two ReAuthorist CCE text files have different chapters. I'm not sure which chapters to actually use. My idea is as long as I can get the video to encode properly, then I should be able to use ReAuthorist to create the script for Scenarist, right? And then load the script and everything will be imported properly, but if the chapter points are different, I'm wondering what will be affected in Scenarist.

Since ECL can hold several runs to encode the video, I'm wondering if it would be possible to create an ECL, by means of BatchCCE or ReAuthorist or whatever, that would be able to recreate the Robshot-Bach method by creating an ECL that has both the First pass, then the multipass in the same ECL? I know that for BatchCCE, It runs the first pass, closes, then runs CCE a second time through multipass, but with different settings, such as Quanization.. I think? But if the ECL could hold this information, then we could essentially have Robshot-Bach method done without having to open CCE SP twice...

Currently, the computer is running BatchCCE using the CCEData file that DIF4U created, just to test. Let me know what you guys think? Thanks in advance.
