How to tackle this ?
Main movie to big, so I use CCE to make it smaller.

For authoring I use Maestro which gives me an ifo with one PGC (the movie)
The original uses 3 PGC's.

When I use Ifoupdate it complaints that the authored ifo is to big
for the original.
Than it stops, so I can't use Ifoupdate.

Anybody ?

What's the exact error message (and what happens if you type this error message in the search function ;) )

The error is that the original has more PGC's than the authored one.
Which is right since the original has 3 PGC's and the authored one has 1.

:p Tried that, but I ended up with one thread which led to the conclusion that I had to use playlists in Maestro. This is new to me, after I tried that I got stuck with the message that the playlist had to contain at least one entry

What do you want to accomplish? Movie only backup or a complete backup? Or movie + menu?

Only if you want to reincorporate your authored dvd into an existing structure you'll use ifoupdate. If you do an movie only backup then just make sure you'll set your first play command to play your movie and after compiling burn to dvd.

But if you're using ifoupdate you should recreate the exact same structure as the original otherwise you'll get this error.

If you want to do a complete backup try out 'the big three method' (dif4u, docc4u, reauthorist). Read guides on this and good luck.

Oh and BTW please follow the forum rules and use a descriptive title for your post. Ifoupdate is way to general.

you will need to recreate the 3 PGC's, and in dvdmaestro it is done by using playlists.

you drag the chapters into the list for the playlist to select which part is playable in that pgc.

Thanks, I will try this, I do have chapters which come back in the first two PGC's though (is this correct English ?)
I mean, they appear in both PGC's
