I just bought the Eagles-DVD " Hells freezes over" but my decoder cannot read DTS and I need to convert the sound to 5.1 Dolby Digital.
Is there a way to convert this or do I have to live with the PCM?

Gabest wrote a very nice DSF for DTS playback (AVI <-> AC3/DTS Filter):

You also need the Intervideo Audio Decoder (iviaudio.ax)

Oh sorry, you want to transcode. Well yeah, search for the AC3 plugin for Nero (http://neroplugins.cd-rw.org/)and there's the AC3 feature in BeSweet, but I think it's considered developmental.

@ Potatoking
Please refer to forum rule 1. Here's another reference thread. This has been asked before, your best solution is probably WinDVD + AziDTS. http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=63437

Neither Besweet or the Nero AC3 plugin will help in DTS transcoding. Besweet decodes/encodes AC3, the nero plugin merely serves AC3 audio up to the Nero mp3/AAC encoder. As I mentioned above azidts adds DTS input ability to Besweet (assuming WinDVD installed). hth,

KpeX, you covered the decoding part of the problem, but Potatoking still needs an encoder. I too DID mention previously that you need the intervideo DTS decoder. Sorry, I thought azdts came with the Besweet bundle, but I see you have to add it separately. I wasn't trying to mislead--only help. I use AAC or PCM, but I just tried to do dts >> AC3 in an effort to help Potatoking. I found that I could not "fix" the DD-wav file produced with Besweet with Besplit and create an AC3 file from the DD-wav, though I use Besplit for this purpose for DD-wav files that I've captured from my satellite receiver. There's probably a way to do it, but I didn't get it right on my first try. Next, to prove the value of the Nero AC3 plugin :), I used the "Encode Files" function of Nero Burning ROM to encode from a 5.1 aiff that I transcoded from DTS with Besweet. Nero and the AC3 plugin created a 5.1 AC3 file with no problem. For some reason, the older plugins don't seem to work correctly as output plugins with NeroMix so you have to use the "encode files" feature of NBR rather than NeroMix. I've noticed this with the lame plugin too. The Nero supplied plugins work fine with Mix, though.
the nero plugin merely serves AC3 audio up to the Nero mp3/AAC encoder. No, the nero AC3 plugin is an input AND output plugin. If you feed it a 5.1 wav or 5.1 aiff, you can get 5.1 AC3 output too.

@calinb
My point was merely that neither the Nero AC3 plugin or BeSweet will decode DTS. azidts is a separate program. Regards,

First you have to rip the DTS streams from the DVD and then convert them to 5.1 DD.
I wrote a guide for the ripping of the DTS streams. (The easiest method is the last one (method 3) but all the software from steps 1 and 2 is still required !)
You can find it here :
