This is what my ritek media shows up under dvd decrypter in iso read mode.

Device Information:
Current Profile: DVD+R

Disc Information:
Status: Empty
Erasable: No
Free Sectors: 2,295,104
Free Space: 4,700,372,992 bytes
Free Time: 510:03:29 (MM:SS:FF)

When ever I put a different type of media I get alot more info than that. If its bad media then rima.com is eating this one. They told me this media was working with 8 speed on the plextor. Both roxio and dvd decrypter refuse to burn it at any speed. Record now Max did it at 8 speed and made coasters. Both the ones that wouldnt even write to it made it unreadable so they are coasters too. I have 6 coasters now ready to be used in the living room for guests to put their drinks on.

I have gone out and bought two more brands of + media and none of them work either. Every - and +RW I throw at it it works. Just not the +R. I give up. Plextor sucks. I am getting rid of it.

Let me guess: You bought some more cheap 4x disc, hoping that you could burn it twice as fast as what it has been made for.
You can write at 8x to verbatim 4x +r discs.

I bought some TDK and memorex. The memorex dvd+rw discs write just fine. I also would like to mention that the disc that came with the drive also didnt work as well. I say there is something wrong with the drive. The light turns amber like it is supposed and it says writing lead in and then it turns green and stays green and there is no change on the progress bar as time goes on.
