I'm doing encodes of Futurama and there's a character (Leela) that is always wearing red lipstick. The lines are thick and this causes some noticeable noise around her mouth. I think it just has to do with the blotch of red causing problems (like red always does).

Is there any filter out there that I can use to remove JUST that noise? I've noticed that any other noise filter I use on the sources (which is extremely clean) adds unwanted artifacts so I'm not looking for something that can do everything else at the same time.

Hello,

having a picture would help us understand your problem. From what you've said, I guess it is the typical "dotcrawling" that GuavaComb is good at removing. It was recently ported to AVS2.5 but is still working in YUY2. One last advice: apply it before deinterlacing, frame-dropping, and resizing... which means "put it first in your filter chain" :)
