Hi;

I'm using DVD2DVD with CCE 2.6 to create DVD compliant movies. Everything runs smoothly and I get an multiplexed file MPEG2+AC3+subtitles with an aprox size of 4480 Mb exactly as selected in the options.

Problem: When I try to author a basic DVD with this file, using DVDLab I get a DVD with 4800Mb!!!

Should I tell DVD2DVD to create files for a disk size let's say 4100Mb?

Or am I just authoring it in a wrong fashion?

Any help would be greatly appeciated.

Thanks.

Interesting - would you mind feeding your raw files in to IfoEdit / DVD Author / Author new DVD to see if the same thing happens ?

a DVD is 4.7 Billion bytes (4,704,317,440), which actually 4.381 real gigabytes, this is where you are probably getting confused.

maa: I did put the elementary streams into IfoEdit and it worked fine. Thanks for the tip.

auenf: I'm aware of that. The problem is that DVDLab reports 4,81Gb for DVD size in the main window!

And this behavior is the similar whether I feed elementary streams or the muxed .mpg file.

But now I think it's a bug because the overall result is similar to the one produced by IfoEdit. Feeding the two streams to DVDLab 1.2.2b, paying no atention to the displays of excess size and taking the process all the way works fine and the resulting set of files fits perfectly in a standard DVD-R.

Cheers.
