adding a new set of subtitle to a dvd

hi there, its my first time here so bear with me.

ok, i want to add a portuguese subtitle to a dvd (not divx or svcd), i know how to do it with divx to dvd but i think its a waste of time and quality to encode it to divx and reencod it to dvd again with the subs, ive sean a guide somewhere but i can't remember now, so if u could help i would be realy pleased.

If you could tell us what software you are using to make the DVD it would help

ok sorry,

just the basic , ripping the original with dvd decrypter and them encoding with dvd2one 1.3, its not a long movie so the quality was good enought to keep the menus aswell and i didn't need to use cinema craft ou tmpeg for better quality, it came with english subs and then i got the portuguese subs from a site on the net.

i'm don't know a lot about all the tecnical but as a user im ok with most programs to rip and encoding.
