I am new to this forum but have done extensive searching and cannot find an answer. Any help would be appreciated..

I have many VCD's and am looking to put multiple VCD's onto the one DVD. I am currently extracting the mpg files, then using SVCD2DVDMPG to convert the audio stream etc. I come out with files that are about 400 Mb. I would logically think that I should be able to put about 10 of these onto a DVD.

When I use Ulead software to create the menu and the disc I note that I can only fit 5 vcd's onto the one DVD.

So I have 2 questions if I may

1. Why does this happen?
2. Is there a way around this so that I can place 10 on a DVD and it still be able to be played in my DVD player.

Your help greatly appreciated

Is this maybe a complicated issue? Or maybe just very basic.

I am just interested to know.

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

My guess is that the audio is converted to uncompressed PCM (perhaps you are making NTSC DVD and the audio is in mp2 format, which is not official DVD standard). You can try converting to ac3 audio.

You can also try some other authoring software, like TMPGEnc DVD Author.

U-Lead is re-encoding, afaik, the video according to your settings. That?s why the video is bloated and u can't fit 10 in a dvd-r.
