I Have a few avi files, i split one into 2 parts using nandub and it was fine, i split another one and halfway thru cd2 it gets a bit screwy and the sound is about 1 minute in FRONT of the video.

ISplit another avi file, again, the sound jumps in front of the video, this time by about 2 seconds, so not so bad, both split by nandub.

SO, i split another file using a good bit of software, avi and mpeg splitter v2.31, it does it all for you, you click split into 2 and it does, but again, cd2 has the sound in front of the video !!!!

The original avi files play fine on my p.c, all the way, it seems to be when i split them.

I`m not a pro at splitting files, using nandub and the other one is as far as i can go on my own, so please, any techinical jargon please explain, its doing my head in, some split fine, some dont yet the original avi file is all good ?????????

cheers......

What kind of audio are you using in your AVI? MP3 or AC3?

There are other programs for splitting.
avimux
AviSplitCalc
VirtualDubMod

VirtualDubMod might be more usefull working with VBR MP3's which I thnik is what you have. Give it a try.

hi,
did you choose a keyframe as a cutting point?? any other frame might do the abovementioned to your second part of the movie.
and i would also use vdubmod for it, although it might not make a difference at all...

oh and btw: changed the threadtitle for you ;)

Yep, used a keyframe when split file.
I Do the same procedure on every file i split yet say out of 5, 2 will do this annoying sound fault ???????????

As i said, the other bit of software i use doesnt require any techi info from user, just a few clicks and it does it for you, yet this still does the sound fault, the original file is sound, its not an issue copying it to cd, if i watch the split file on the p.c using divx the sound fault still happens, yet why does it only do it half way thru the 2nd split file, and not from the start of part 2 ?

does my head in !

Just a thought, i have just split an avi file, played the split file on me p.c and its fine, burnt it to cd and it does it again, SO, could it be the cd`s i`m using, they are verbatim 700 meg ones.

whilst playing, at the point of the sound going googoo, it freezes for about 10 secs and then the sound goes poo, yet on the p.c this doesnt happen at the same point.

cd`s ?

If so, what make of cd should i use to burn to ?

cheers.....
