Hey all,

woohoo, first post

2COOL's Spirited Away cheat sheet inspired me to go after another Miyazaki film, namely Kiki's Delivery Service. Using 2COOL's guide as a template, I was able to skip the FBI warnings and intros, remove angle 1, useless language tracks, and other bonus material. I also was able to disable the corresponding menu buttons. Everything plays well inside ifoedit as well as with PowerDVD. Had some initial problmes with the angles that caused my chapters to get screwed, but that was fixed after I followed the instructions and used ifoedit91.(doh) Problem is I need to transcode everything down a few hundred megs.

So I tried using DVDshrink3b5 to get it all to fit on a single DVD5, but I have run into a problem. I get a unable to find file type error message. What I notice is happening is when the initial analysis occurs the movie is already finished 75% of the way through. But DVDshrink is still looking for some vobs to process. I have the original DVD structure intact, minus one vob of the main movie since I removed the language and angles I didn't want. I don't understand what I have missed. I get a similar error if I try DVD2One as well.

Anyone able to shed some light on this for me?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :D:p :p :p

I was going to work on Kiki's Delivery Service but had a couple of distractions. In the meantime, open each IFO invidividually in DVD Shrink 3.0 beta 5 and you'll know which one(s) are giving you problems. That's the titleset(s) you need to check out. If this weren't edited, you may have to rip them again.

thx 2COOL, will check it out. Can't wait for the official guide so I can see if I did it properly ;)

hyperdarius, did u find the titleset that cause the problem? The error is related to improper stripped. If u can't solve the problem, replace the titleset with your backup. Otherwise rerip only that titleset and replace the problematic one with the fresh one. Don't forget to do Get VTS Sectors.

2Cool, have u done The Life of David Gale? :D :D I don't cheat in school but here would love to do it here. :p :p :D

2COOL and Chowskie, thx 4 the info. That did it. It was two of the vobs causing the problem. I re-rip and DVDShrink didn't complain anymore.

thanks. :D

cheers!

Did u redo the stripping/trimming/blanking out of these titlesets? And found out what was your mistake(s) in the first round? The most important thing here is learning from your mistakes. ;)

btw, welcome to the forum! :D

thx 4 the welcome, Chowski. Luckily I didn't have to do any of the ifo edits again.(It would have been my fourth time if I had) The two vobs that were giving me trouble had only layer breaks in them.
