Ok, I've been surfing around for ages and reading endlessly trying to figure this out.
I'm using Nero 6 Ultra now. I was using a previous version of Nero when I tried to burn a Data DVD-R with filenames longer than 64 characters just to backup a bunch of my Windows XP files and I don't remember which DVD-Rom mode I used (ISO, UDF, ISO/UDF) but I had Joliet ticked and pretty much all of the "Relax Restrictions" checked, which stated I could have longer filenames, yet once my DVD-R finished burning all my files were 8.3?! Oh and because it was a crap job I gave my sister the disc and while I could read it in my DVD burner she could NOT read it in her DVD-Rom drive. Could someone PLEASE clue me in on what I need to use in Nero 6 Ultra to make a backup DVD-Rom with long filenames over 64 characters and have it be the most compatible? At least able to play on a XP box with a DVD-Rom drive. I'm not at all familiar with UDF and I have a headache that aspirin isn't touching after trying to read info on it. This has to be a simple setting, but I can't test with RW and $2 a DVD-R? Wow. So any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks.
