Hi,

I'm trying to edit tv broadcast recorded on DVDs with a Panasonic DVD recorder with Premiere Pro.

- I tried to copy a VOB to the computer, rename it to MPG. It works, but the duration of the mpg is wrong (e.g.13s instead of 45min): premiere will only allow to work on the wrong duration. Although you can see the entire clip with Windows Media Player, WMP also shows the wrong duration.

- I tried to RIP a complete DVD in a single file: same story

- I tried to use utilities such as ChopperXP to cut a part of the VOB: same story. Also most often, Premiere will simply show a single black frame.

:scared: Help, how can I fix the file so that it indicates the right duration ?

Thanks, Cedric

You should demux them and then re-author.

Thanks!

I tried to demux then remux with TMPGENG & it works.
Problem is, the audio is a little desynchronized (but enough to look totally unnatural when someone is speaking).

Any idea how I could get the sync right?

:) Thanks,

Cedric

The problem is known in this forum here, search for "audio synch prob"
or "audio out of synch", I donīt know exactly any more.

You could also use a program named DVDX 2.2 although the converting is terribly slow, I've used it before and not had a problem with it. It should work.
