Hi everyone, and thanks for such a great place to learn all about backing up DVDs.
Recently, I've run into a problem with all of my DVDs processed through the big three, where the subtitles will be on by default. I initially attributed this to upgrading DVD Decrypter to the newest version, and figured maybe it had something to do with Remove PUOPS being enabled. (Don't ask me how I drew this conclusion)
I've since been unchecking this flag when I rip the initial ISO, but no difference has been made.
My question is twofold. First and foremost, has anyone seen this issue, and do you have any possible ideas how to correct it.
Second, how do I fix the DVDs I've already backed up? I don't want to go through the entire encode process again, and I'm pretty sure that it's easy to fix these via IFOEdit. Can someone point me in the right direction?
I've backed up a fair amount of DVD's, but I must admit, much of the success I've had so far is nothing but dumb luck.
Thanks again for your patience, and for your valuable insight.
Update - I'm an idiot. I didn't understand the end of the process well enough, and was using ALL of the files that Scenarist generated, rather than just the VOBs of the re-encode.
Suddenly, my backups are actual backups! Only took me 15 movie-only (with all extras still on the disc, just unplayable - including menus) copies to figure it out!
