How to convert NTSC->PAL transfer back to 24fps progressive?

I've got a PAL DVD that looks like it was converted from a 3:2 pulldown 30fps NTSC master and I'm trying to convert it back to 24fps progressive (well, 23.976 to be more precise). I've tried bobbing the video up to 50fps and then using a SelectEvery command to try and pull out only the non-blended frames, but this only seems to work for a few seconds before the video becomes jerky and blended again. Has anyone worked with this kind of material much and is there a good way to accomplish what I'm trying to do?

No - its the first time its been heard of.

Most PAL transfers are done very well.

What do you mean exactly by blended?

If your conversion has lots of blended fields, then it is very difficult if not impossible to recover progressive frames. Use SeparateFields() to inspect the fields. If you see many that are blends of two pictures, then you have blended fields. This situation is well covered in existing threads and you should use the search function to find them.
