I'm ripping a DVD that's giving me the following trouble.
Before the end credits begin (so, for the absolutely most part of the movie), the video is NTSC, and needs IVTC, because it has that 3-2 frame pattern, 3 are progressive and two are interlaced. I use IVTC and it works fine.
But, when the first frame of the credits starts, the pattern seems to change, it's not anymore 3-2 but it seems to be something like 2-4, I mean, for every 2 progressive frames, there are 4 interlaced ones that follow, and so on. Since the whole movie has been IVTC'ed, this part of it plays choppy, very choppy. I can easily notice this problem because the credits are shown over images that have a lot of movement, not over black background.
What should I do to have this part of the movie also well encoded? I never read anything about a 4-2 pattern of frame sequence of whatever this should be.
