compilations of music videos

I've collected quite a few DVD & VHS of concerts and Music video's. What I would like to do is burn them onto cd's (burning DVD's will come later) in a compilation format so I can create my own MTV using my pioneer 5 disc dvd changer DV-C503. I would like any suggestions concerning hardware and software and links to the best methods for compiling.

Well then if you want them to be read by a DVD player, I guess the first thing to check is whether or not is supports VCD or SVCD. Then you can use any of doom9's guides to creat VCD's or SVCD's from your concerts.

Hi and welcome-

For hardware, you'll need a computer (the faster the better) and a DVD-ROM. I assume you already have that. If you have or plan to get a DVD/MPEG4 player, then you can encode to XviD or DivX and play them in that. Failing that, then SVCD is your best bet. If you want to capture your videotapes for encoding, then you'll need capture hardware. Go to the Capture Forum and read their FAQ/Guide/Tutorial. For software, the main thing you'll need is an encoder (CCE or TMPGEnc, most likely). The rest of the software is free and available here. As Hiro2k suggested, work your way through the guides. They'll tell you what you need and how to do it. Good Luck.
