Help me out here. Commercial DVD, 3.97 GB from HBO Video. A friend wants me to make a backup. Sounds easy?

I go to DVD Decryptor, bunches of problems when trying to play, such as menu not appearing, only black (though I know the menus are all on the one VOB, I looked at them personally), and the video seemed very twitchy.

I didn't reencode or anything, I just ripped and threw it into PrimoDVD (with that 'check to make sure its compatible' thing turned off, otherwise i get an error).

It shouldn't be this hard! So why is it?

(note: Smart Ripper did no help)

I had the exact problem earlier and when I ripped again, my video played flawlessly. Don't know why my initial rip was resulted in a corrupted VOB but try ripping your menu VOB again.

hi as you use DVD Decypter, and the DVD is under 4.37gb why not rip again using MODE-ISO-READ. when file is produced Use MODE-ISO-WRITE.
This is the only method i ever use for DVD's that do not need DVD2ONE OR DVD shrink to transcode. Never let me down in over 50 burns.
