Using the newest version of DVD2SVCD I selected input type as AVI, output as DVD. I wanted to encode a 1/2 D1 DVD... is this possible? I notice in the frameserver tab the only selectable DVD res is 720x480. I tried selecting CVD 352x480, but my outputted file has 2 problems. Firstly it's only encoded with a bitrate in the 1.2Mbps area (min - 2000, avg - 4400, max - 9000 is my settings in dvd2svcd), so obviously the final file wastes alot of disc space. Secondly the program forces borders into the file. I selected output as anamorphic 16:9, so it should encode with no borders. The final file has borders, and they are much bigger than the aspect of the video, so it's all squashed.
However I selected DVD 720x480 in the program, and my final file came out fine. The correct bitrates were used, and it had no borders added, just the anamorphic flag.
Whats the deal? Why can't I encode a 1/2 D1 DVD?
Has anyone got a good guide for doing a 1/2 D1 DVD from an AVI with CCE 2.5?
thanks
