Watch out for this error, which has caused me to withdraw a DVD back from the authoring house!!!

Be careful when assigning chapters on the timeline, one slight mistake can cause this to happen, so that when you finish watching a chapter, it goes back to the menu. It's very hard to detect this error, unless you watch the movie from start to finish. Even if you flick through the chapters, it may still appear fine!

why arent you doing a full viewing of your disc before sending it off to get replicated anyway?

I was mainly concentrating on all the Special Features, and as for the main movie - I flicked through all the chapters, so I knew it worked fine. I had even watched the movie before, as raw VOB files before I authorerd the rest of the DVD, so I knew there wasn't any major problems anyway. It was only when assigning chapters that this very small glitch came to be.

I found out more information about the error. Instead of returning to main menu after the movie ends, it returns there after just the first chapter. "Movie: Chapter 0:00" End Action setting was mistaken for representing the whole movie (in the Movie Connection settings). Although the Movie Connection window is very useful for copying and pasting menu connections, when it comes to the main movie, make sure you right click on Movie 1's strip in the timeline, and set the End Action from that point. This mistake could easily happen to anyone...
