I'm not exactly sure how, but the DV DirectShow Codec filter (Windows XP) plays DV encoded material at 59.940 fps. What I mean is that, the video is originally encoded at 29.970 fps interlaced, but when it goes through the codec in DirectShow (and Overlay Mixer is used), as a result the video is deinterlaced (properly somehow) and renders at a framerate of 60 fps. Media Player Classic reports it as 29.970 fps, but my framerate display software reports 60. Does anyone have any ideas on how this is done, and if there are codecs that can perform a similar task? (preferably in MPEG-4)
