Problem with decoding AC3

Hello to all,
I have a problem with transforming an AC3 file to a WAV file with HEADAC3E.
I have tried reading and acting according to all the related topics here in this forum, and in oother sites, and nothing helped.
If I missed the solution somewhere, please don't bust my balls and just try helping me if you can. Here's the problem:

I have a large AVI file. When I open VIRUALDUB and I click on "File Information" I get: "UNKNOWN (tag 2000)" Near the Audio informaion. That usually means that the file's audio is in AC3 format. I save the audio in an AC3 file, and try to convert it to a WAV so TMPGENC would recognize it and allow me to creat a VCD.
HEADAC3E is telling me that I have a currpted frame, and stops the conversion. I tried fixing the problem with BESLICED and with BESWEET. Both of these programs finish their operation, but BESLICED makes no difference at all, and BESWEET makes the soundtrack diappear and instead I get an annoying buzzing sound.
I didn't really understand what AZID does, but it also didn't help.
I also tried downloading the same file from several different locations, and still I get the same problem.

chances are your AC3 has a couple of corrupt frames - especially if your avi is in 2 parts. Try AC3fix.exe. this will correct the faulty frames, then run through headac3e
