View Full Version : Video_ts File... Does the case matter?

Hi guys,
I have looked for an answer to this question but can't find a thread, so excuse me if it has already been asked.

I am having set top playback problems with a Toshiba SDK320 DVD player. The DVD just won't play at all. I have tried different region codings, media, and UDF file structures, but still it won't play.

I have noticed that the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders are in lower case in this particular build, and I wondered could that be creating a compatability problem?

Also if I do a UDF/ISO build, there is a small file, called a .LAY file retained in the VIDEO_TS folder,.. could this also be creating a problem... if I do a DVD-Video build, this LAY file is excluded.

But as I said, my main concern is the case of the Video and Audio folders,... I was under the impression that the case doesn't make any difference.

Hope you understand what I'm on about !!

All file names and folder names must be uppercase for DVD-Video. Extra files such as the .lay file should be removed, as there is no place for them in the ifo (which provides the relative locations of all files in the VIDEO_TS folder).
This was covered a long, long time ago.

Many thanks mpucoder... Must have missed the posts on it.
But that may explain why there is some incompatability...

I will reburn for the Toshiba, and report back in a couple of days FWIW.
