Dont know exactly where to ask, so I try it here...
Is there a way to render this Winamp visualisation "AVS" ???
Maybe a AviSynth plugin for Winamp-AVS + Audio input -> A/V output ???
Would be happy to know, because I cant find one... :)

What is Winamp AVS?

Those are files for the winamp visualisation plugin, so you can laod them and get nice effects while playing music :p
They look like this
Nullsoft AVS Preset 0.1
џџџ ) 8 Фџџџ
d 2 ђ љџџџ
ыб> џ
x=x*0.94+sin(y*3.14159*8)*0.03; y=y*0.94+sin(x*3.14159*8)*0.03
So, as you can see, those have nothing to do with avisynth besides the same extension.
I guess it won't be possible, unless the source for the vis plugin is aviable and sb feels to port it as a filter.

No, has nothing to do with AviSynth-scripts... ;)
Just thought maybe theres a AviSynth-plugin to use them as input !
Would be damn nice to produce music videos... :D

I'd just like to second the request - you could then make avi's out of normal music wav/mp3 files.
At them moment, I can't ouput the "video" part of WinAmp to my Matrox TV-out - don't know why -its the only app that fails to do this.
Full screen playback kills my system (probably due to Matrox again)
But if the "AVS" video could be saved and reloaded then I could just make standard avi's and have them playback fullscreen on a TV and still have control over the desktop.

using Winamps AVS as a 'visual effects plugin' for winamp would surely be great fun!! and it would also be the most elegant and secure (no framedrops, etc.) way to do this!!
But aren't there some directx capable frame-grabbing tools that can also capture videos?!! i never used one of them, but there are some. maybe this is solution for you!

...directx capable frame-grabbing tools
Think they work only for realtime captures...?!?
So there would be still the low fps problem in fullscreen-mode... :(

Sure, the capturing must be performed in realtime. But it should be possible to render the Winamp AVS Effects in a 768x576 (or smaller) window and capture this with huffyuv or MJPEG with 25fps - at least with a modern PC (2GHz+)

Yup ! Wanna replace my old P3'933 and the A.1333 with a modern one soon... :D
Not only for encoding @25fps, also for playing HalfLife2 and Doom3 @25fps !!! ;)
