DVD2DVDR Problems

I have used this prog with CCE for quite a while and have done several dvds with it. But for some reason it started failing after it had finished reencoding. It would finish reecoding then it would open the window to browse for the m2v file but it wouldnt look for it and would just sit there. If I browsed for it myself it would say cannot open.

I have tried several different versions of DVD2DVDr uninstalling and reinstalling each time, and several versions of CCE. I have tried uninstalling both and running a registry cleaner but no joy!

Anyone had the problem before? Or has anyone got any ideas about what is causing this???

you have a space or funky character in your path most likely.

The path was E:\recruit\NewFolder

I cant see anything funky there??? I will try putting it straight into E:\ just to make sure!!

try dvd2dvd as it has recovery so you don't need to start over from the beginning. I'm not up to speed nowadays with dvd2dvd-r that much.

Can DVVD2DVD be used with DVDLab instead of scenarist ala DVD2DVDR? I tried using the DVD2DVD but never got anywhere with it. So now I am back to using DVD2DVDR. I am always open to the use of a new tool, so feedback would be appreciated.

In the end I have solved the problem by importing into ifoedit and doing the following:

When DVD2DVD-R or CCE has finished, there are the following files in a folder named to the DVD-Label on your destinationdrive

- Video_0xE0_NEW.M2V
one or more
- Checked_Audio_0x??_????????.???
no, one or more
- Subtitle_0x2?_????????.SUP
- CellTimes.txt
- ORIGINAL.IFO
_________________________________________________________________

- start IfoEdit 0.95 or higher
- menu 'DVD Author' -> 'Author new DVD'
- 'Video' select the path to the file 'Video_0xE0_NEW.M2V'
- 'Audio' select the paths to the files 'Checked_Audio_0x??_????????.???'
- mark each audiofile and select the correct language from the dropdownlist
- set audiodelay to '0'
- 'Subpicture' select the paths to the files 'Subtitle_0x2?_????????.SUP'
- mark each subpicture file and select the correct language from the dropdownlist
- 'Scene Changes/Chapters' select the path to the file 'CellTimes.txt'
- 'Destination' select a path to a valid folder named 'VIDEO_TS'
- press 'OK' to start the authoring
- close IfoEdit

- start IfoEdit
- press 'Open' and select the path to new generated VTS_O1_1.IFO
- press 'Get VTS Sectors'
- close IfoEdit

If you have selected Subpictures, you have to do additional steps

- start IfoEdit
- press 'Open' and select the path to the file 'ORIGINAL.IFO'
- press 'Open' and select the path to new generated IFO file 'VTS_01_1.IFO'
- mark in the upper window of IfoEdit the file 'ORIGINAL.IFO' and select under 'VTS_PGCITI' the PGC you have copied with DVD2DVD-R
- menu 'Subtitle Color' -> 'Copy Colors from this PGC'
- mark in the upper window of IfoEdit the new generated file 'VTS_01_0.IFO' and select under 'VTS_PGCITI' the 'PGC 1'
- menu 'Subtitle Color' -> 'Paste Colors to this PGC'
- press 'Save' to save the new ifo
- close IfoEdit

Now the files are ready to burn!

Its an extra stage but its very easy!!!!
