View Full Version : Chapter problem with PVA -> DVD

Hello,
I try to find my problem here with a search, but it seems not to be described bevore.

DVD2SVCD V1.2.1B2, Scenarist V2.7, CCE 2.5

I have a PVA stream from a dBox or Haupauge Dec-2000 and try to made a DVD from it. After adjusting the bitrate a bit the image would fit and Scenarist create a ready to burn image. Looks ok, but only on the first look.

I open the DVD Image with WinDVD5 from HD and skip througt the chapters and notice that something is going wrong. I set in DVD2SVCD a chapter every 300 seconds. The result is a 'shuffle' in the chapters. After the last one there ist another chapter from somewhere in the film. Seems, that the generated script for Scenarist dosn't set the order correct.

You know what I try to describe ? :) The script is to complex for me, but I saved it for debugging if someone like. I create the project manual from scratch and my new image work very well. I saved that script too to compare but I don't understand enough to find the bug.

I have exactly the same problem, as I have been trying to convert divx/xvid to DVD. The second chapter is placed at the end of the movie. This has happened every time. I believe you are are right about the generated script for scenarist being defect, although like you I find it too complex to read through the entire script to find the flaw.

The encoded mpv file seems ok before it is handed over to be "chaptered" and authored by the Scenarist script.

I think this is a general bug for the author of DVD2SVCD...

Same problem here.

Chapters get mixed when automatically generated from a divx/xvid. Actually, looking at the scenarist script file, it looks like a pretty simple error. For example, from memory, the ordering for 24 chapters is something like: 1,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,2,20,21,22,23,24,3,4,5,6,7,8,9.

I think maybe an integer field is missing somewhere... It is possible to work around by editing the script file, but can be a pain for more than 10 chapters :(

Has anyone notified the DVD2SVCD author?

I have filed a bugreport yesterday, but no reaction yet :-(
