I've read up on how most codecs will stretch the 16-235 range to 0-255, and how certain codecs can be set to interpret the color correctly, but I'm still at a loss...
I've noticed that my test files play back fine in MediaPlayer, but in every editing/encoding app I've tried, the bright areas get washed out. I made sure the the codec (Canopus) was configured correctly, but still no luck.
Am I missing something, or is this unavoidable?
